Love, Mickey and Pez

I am not a Pez Candy Dispenser collector. I have one that is a football with University of Washington logo on it. But in the Valentines Clearance I found this cute little set. It is a Mickey and Minnie in a heart box. I got it for a great deal of $1.78. Which is nearly cheaper than a single package Pez dispenser. I am putting it on my bookshelf. I am in Love.

30 Days and Counting

I leave in 30 days to celebrate my birthday at Disneyland! I am like a kid, counting how many sleeps till I leave. I am already planning on what outfits I am going to be packing. And as you already know, my suitcase is out and ready. I have already packed my backpack for autographs. And I am planning on what other odds and ends I will be packing. As well as packing up my son.

Till then I have school. I started my spring term last week. That is why I was absent. I have quite a full load. I am hoping that I can get decent marks this quarter. My favorite class is my dance class, naturally. I am taking my first ever modern class. It is interesting. And  I find it hard to break my mind from doing ballet movements. It is definitely not as rigid but just as hard. I love learning new things. My other classes are Introduction to GIS, and Introduction History of American Indians. I love them both. They are some of my favorite topics. This quarter should be stellar.

My running training is in full swing. I am actually trying something a little different this time. I am using an app on my iphone. I am going to write more about it in a few weeks once I have tried it. Let you know what I think of it. There is a soundtrack you can download on itunes as well. So it should be interesting. We will see. And I will for sure let you know.

This week I plan on filling you in on a bunch of new developments. So stay tuned.

Yo Ho Someone is 45

Today is the anniversary for one of my favorite rides at Disneyland. Pirates of the Caribbean opened in 1967. I first rode that ride 18  years later.  And after the first time I wanted to ride it again and again. Every time I ride it I swear I see something I haven’t seen before. And even now with the 2006 renovations to update the ride to be more like the successful movies, with the infamous Captain Jack Sparrow being seen throughout.  I am still seeing and comparing things from the previous model. What is your favorite part??

Also a Disney first opened the same time as the ride. That is the Blue Bayou restaurant. It is the first in-attraction restaurant. I have never eaten there before. But that is changing. I am eating there on my birthday! Which is May 4th. I am very excited. I have wanted to eat there my whole life. And I even ordered a Princess Birthday cake for myself. Gluten free carrot cake! I can not wait.

This is just one of my little trivia updates. I can’t wait to share more.

Countdown App

I have an iPhone, if you were not aware. And I, like many iPhone users, dabble in trying apps of all sorts. One of my newest ones is a countdown app by Sevenlogics, Inc.. The free version lets out create one countdown. If you want more than one, you can purchase the premium, which allows you as many as you like and you can personalize them with your own photos. At first, one would think, this is quite simple really. You enter a date. Pick a picture out, theirs or yours. Select how you like to count down. Whether it is days, months, minutes, heartbeats and a few others. Give it a title and off you go. You can even set music to it.

I made one for my birthday. And it is fun to look at daily to see how many days till I go to Disneyland. I ended up buying the premium because I now have my boys birthdays on my phone. And when they ask, as kids often do, when their birthday is. I can simply show them how many sleeps away it is. This is a great simple little app. I gave it 5 stars on the ratings. Because of its simplicity, and usefulness. It would be great to count down to anything really… the big game, a wedding, birthdays, root canal. Anything you would like. And when the date passes, it gives you the option to count up from, such as, how many days since. Or you could set the date as an anniversary too.

I even made one for my surprise vacation!

Surprises

I am running in the Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend again this year. This year will be special though, because I am taking the boys. I have run twice now at Disneyland. Each time was an amazing experience. Only something felt like it was missing. I figure it was my family. I had no one there to cheer me on, or hug at the finish line.

So I decided next time I would have my kids there. And because of my determination, they will be. The only catch, they don’t know it yet. I have decided to surprise them. It’s a big deal because my littlest man loves Mickey Mouse with a capital L. Last time we were there as a family was four years ago. He was not even two yet. It was a very different time in our lives.

The catch with the surprise is that they will not know where we are going until we are on our way to the airport where we are going. I am so excited about this. The hard part is going to be keeping it a secret until the 27th of August. Especially as we get closer and finalization of plans come through.

While we are there my son Jami will be turning 11. So I have to plan something supercalifragilisticespialidocious for him. So far I am thinking dinner in the park, but i want to do something for the day too. I wish they had something like the Bibbity Bobbity Boutique for boys to make him a knight, prince or pirate. I will figure it out I am sure. I have plenty of time.

I look forward to the planning process. Only 170 days to go!
